delight, demonstrate, disentangle
Thanks to Chris Brogan for this excellent idea — a mantra of three words to describe one’s goals/resolutions for the year!
See http://bit.ly/7SEr for Chris’s idea!!
I’ve come up with my three words:
delight
demonstrate
disentangle
I love words; disentangle makes me want to dance — I need more ‘dance’ in my life — movement, joy, hope, exercise, fitness, etc. I also need to disentangle my body from sitting in front of the computer for tooooo long stretches at a time. I need to disentangle myself from the piles and piles and piles of ‘to-do’ lists — sometimes with pragmatism, sometimes with determination and demonstrating “ta-dah! I did it!”, sometimes by letting them go undone.
Demonstrate reminds me of Ghandi’s “Be the change you want to see in the world.” quote…
Delight; I love the word delight as an outward verb — I usually use it in phrases like “I was delighted” — but what an energizing difference in reminding myself to delight others on a daily basis — love it!
delight, demonstrate, disentangle.
2009, bring it on!
Thanks again to Chris Brogan for the inspiration.

I love this! First off, I’ve long been an advocate of “threes”. Almost anyone can remember three things. When you add a fourth or fifth item, inevitably the elegance of the short list starts to blur.
My three favorite words have been “clarity, simplicity and focus” for the last 20 years. They have guided both my personal and professional career and have provided much needed guidance when the world does a really good job of being “fuzzy, complex and diverse”.

Thank you for the response, Les
“fuzzy, complex, diverse” is an interesting depicton of the world.
It’s been quite interesting to follow all the responses Chris Brogan’s received from his post; there are a lot of people thinking in threes!
