hot and humid

It has been a very warm spring and summer for Charlottesville, overall, so far.  And it’s still only mid-July — when the muggy weather is supposed to start!  sigh.

Humidity hampers my energy level, for sure.  I’ve been struggling to motivate myself this morning.  There is much I should/could accomplish!

As many of you know, I’m working diligently to finally complete a master’s degree, in Adult Education and Training, through the University of Phoenix Online.  It’s a bit lonely spending so much time in a virtual world, and I find myself increasingly pondering the changes — positive and not so — that computers and other technological tools are engendering in societies everywhere.

I want to go play in the dirt (too hot and too much work to do).

I want to go kayaking or for a walk in the woods (too much work to do; no time).

lament.

How lucky I am that I am able to sit in an air-conditioned home and have these worries..

Now maybe I can stop feeling sorry for myself and get back to productivity?!

Warren picked up our weekly organic produce delivery yesterday — fresh beets and corn and string beans were enjoyed last night; tonight is squash casserole (beautiful tiny fresh summer squash) and fresh peaches and blueberries.  Yummmmmm.

More to be thankful for.

Back to work I go… staying quiet, cool.

wishing the world, in all its corners, at least a few moments peace…
